Celebrated American violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcairn has earned a stunning reputation as one of America’s most beloved soloists. Ms. Pitcairn made her New York debut at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in 2000 with the New York String Orchestra and she has appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music. She is the CEO and Artistic Director of the Luzerne Music Center and Chamber Music Festival in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, she has resided in Los Angeles since 1991. She is currently a member of the distinguished faculty at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. Elizabeth Pitcairn performs exclusively on the revolutionary Wittner Finetune-Pegs on her legendary instrument, the "Red Mendelssohn" Stradivarius of 1720. She is represented in Italy, France and Russia by Premiere Artists Agency. The 2008 10th Anniversary edition DVD of the Oscar winning The Red Violin features Elizabeth and her instrument in a special feature documentary called "The Auction Block."
