Stained-glass artist Lawrence Saint and his wife, Katharine, sent this Christmas card to Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn in 1920. The card features Mary and the Christ Child within an ornate letter “C,” beginning the phrase “Christmastide Greetings 1920,” while the wise men present their gifts. Saint’s home and stained-glass studio were located just down the road from Bryn Athyn in Huntingdon Valley. In 1917, Raymond Pitcairn enlisted him to create windows for Bryn Athyn Cathedral. By 1928, Saint had begun working at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., where he earned national acclaim for his stained-glass contributions.
