Bryn Athyn artist Winfred S. Hyatt designed this Christmas card depicting the Journey to Bethlehem, featuring Mary on a donkey with Joseph walking beside her through the streets of the town (Luke 2:4-6). Winfred and his wife, Peggy, sent the card to Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn (date unknown). Winfred is remembered principally for his work at Bryn Athyn’s stained-glass studio, which produced windows for both Bryn Athyn Cathedral and Glencairn. He worked for the Pitcairns from 1916 until his passing in 1959.
