In 1964, artist Louis Ewald and his wife, Evelyn, sent this Christmas card to Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn. On the card, Ewald portrays Christ as a boy surrounded by a mandorla (a radiant body halo). Two angels kneel in prayer beside him, while a dove descends from above. Ewald, an artist skilled in paintings, murals, gold leafing, and mosaics, worked as a designer and decorator for the Pitcairns.
