Begin the day at The Cloisters museum and gardens with a guided tour given by Dr. Leslie Bussis Tait, featuring pieces connected to Glencairn’s collection. Eat lunch at the Met and take a self-guided tour of the Museum. We suggest visiting your favorite masterworks as well as the recently reopened Islamic galleries. Other staff picks include Bernini: Sculpting in Clay, Fabergé Imperial Easter eggs, and the American galleries. The day ends with a guided tour of Central Park. Learn how its designers, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, struggled to make their vision our reality. Olmstead’s later firm, Olmstead, Olmstead and Eliot, would go on to design the gardens at Cairnwood Estate in the 1890s.
